Shahzeen was a member of the UIC Mock Trial Team for three consecutive years.  For the last two years she has been team co-captain of UIC team's 348 and 349. She has played an attorney and witness for both prosecution and defense. She won an Outstanding Attorney Award at the Lewis Invitational in 2007 and an All-American Attorney Award at the Nationals in 2008 as a defense attorney.

Since her freshman year, Shahzeen has been an active member of the Muslim Students Association and has served on it's Executive Board. She was the President of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. This is her seventh year being in the Steering Committee of the Islamic Society of North America. She has also been involved in other organizations such as Council on American-Islamic Relations, Jewish Arab Muslim Students, Chicagoland Muslim Scholarship Fund, and the Honors College Leadership Council.

Shahzeen graduated Fall of '07 with degrees in Philosophy and Criminal Justice, and with minors in Law and Society and Political Science.  She is currently working at the Council on American-Islamic Relations as the Government Affairs Coordinator. She will attend law school next fall.
